An introduction to the Wednesday evening pursuit races took place on 4th April with short talks followed by supper.

The aim of these races is to give all club members of any experience or competence, including juniors, the opportunity to sail a course around the lake at the front of a fleet.

The pursuit races have a sequence of uncrowded starts and everyone finishes at 8pm.

The slowest boats with the least experience start first and try to keep ahead of the chasing boats. The fastest most experienced sailors try to catch up and overtake to get ahead just before the finish. With the fleet spread only a basic knowledge of the rules is required. The Sailing Committee reviewed racing from previous years and have modified the handicaps to try and ensure everyone is fairly matched.
